Keynotes & Plenary Talks
ICANM is pleased to present world-class keynote speakers at our
2020 Conference in Montreal.
The Keynote Lecture "
Nanomaterials for Reducing Food-Related Waste
" will be given by Dr. Ken Bosnick
Dr.Ken Bosnick leads the Nanomaterial Depositions and Characterizations Team at the National Research Council’s Nanotechnology Research Centre in Edmonton, Canada. His research interests center on inorganic nanomaterial depositions and their applications. Key ongoing projects include developing methods for fabricating sinterable hybrid ceramic structures for applications in armour, exploiting conformal metal depositions for sensing and catalysis, and synthesizing semiconductor nanostructures for gas sensing. He has a keen interest in exploiting nanomaterials to tackle waste issues in the food sector. Dr. Bosnick received his PhD in Experimental Physical Chemistry from the University of Toronto in 2000 and has been employed in research with the National Research Council since 2003.
The Keynote Lecture "
Boron Carbide Based Nanocomposites with Advanced Mechanical Properties
" will be given by Dr.
Dr. Levan Chkhartishvili is Professor in the Engineering Physics Department at Georgian Technical University and Senior Scientist in the Boron-Containing & Composite Materials Laboratory at Ferdinand Tavadze Metallurgy & Materials Science Institute. He is the (co)author of about 320 publications, among them 2 monographs, 6 inventions, and about 190 journal papers and book chapters. His research interests are focused on geometric and electronic structures of boron-rich nanomaterials. In 2016, he was awarded with the Georgian National Academy of Sciences’ Certificate of Honor for scientific achievements in the field of Nanotechnologies. He participated in organization of many international scientific forums. In particular, since 2011 he is the Standing Member of the International Scientific Committee of the ISBB (International Symposia on Boron, Borides & Related Materials). He is Editor-in-Chief & Publisher of the Nano Studies journal and Editorial Board Member of Am. J. Mater. Sci., Am. J. Nanores. & Appl., Eur. Chem. Bull., Heliyon, Karbala Int. J. Mod. Sci., World J. Nanosci. & Nanotechnol., and other journals. Currently, he is Scientific Director of the Project: “Obtaining of boron carbide-based nanostructured heterophase ceramic materials and products with improved performance characteristics .
